ABOUT

"Lauren’s lyrics are so cinematic in scope that listening to her record is practically a visual experience, wordplay reminiscent of writers like Elvis Costello and Cole Porter."

- M. Mandelbaum, Anatomically Correct Music

"Full of soulful expression ... she manages to say all the things you wish you could"

- A. Hamilton-Lowe, WFUV-FM

Lauren Cregor is a composer, singer, pianist, songwriter, arranger and music director who has written for stage, screen, and beyond. She was the composer and music director for the acclaimed off-Broadway company, Waterwell, which produced nine original pieces in NYC and was dubbed “Brilliant, original and inspired” by the New York Times.

Lauren’s film music has been screened across the globe, including the BFM International Festival in London. A recent piece was included in the Topic series "The Accidental Wolf" starring Broadway legend Kelli O'Hara and written/directed by Arian Moayed (Succession).

As a singer / songwriter, Lauren has released two albums with her band and has performed all around NYC. Her third album will be recorded and released in 2025. Check out her Gallery for some recent videos.

As a music director, she has had the honor of working with Brandon Victor Dixon, Will Swenson, William Jackson Harper, Nicole Parker, and many more.

One of her greatest loves is arranging vocal music, which is put into action each year at her annual holiday concert to benefit St Jude's Children's Hospital.

She has had the honor of composing for New York’s SYREN Modern Dance several times, including an upcoming 2025 premiere.

Her latest musical adventure is writing for, and teaching, the youngest of music lovers. She revels in the unabashed joy with which children receive, process, and create music. An album of her original children’s songs is available now, with videos forthcoming.

She is co-director of Sing LIC, a program of children’s choirs that provides endless opportunities to fine-tune ears, build confidence, encourage teamwork, and make a joyful noise.

A recipient of the "Meet The Composer" grant, Lauren has worked with youth of all ages to harness the magic needed to share the music inside them with the world around them.
